Return Policy / RMA Authorization Policy

At, we try to keep our return policy easy and fair for our customers. We want you to be satisfied with your purchase, and will accept many returns within 30 days of puchase without a restock fee. In some cases it is necessary to pass on the restocking fee imposed on us by the manufacturer to you. We will let you know the amount at the time of return. It is normally not more than 25%. We request that you contact us within 7 days of receipt of item to discuss the return, and to request an authorization number. We require that you initiate the request by email so we have a record of the request to avoid any confusion. Any product you return must be in the original condition it came in. There are some guidelines that are listed below. Please feel free to contact us to discuss your individual case.


Please send the packages to the address given to you by the returns department. We ship from various locations in the country, but not all locations can accept returns. RMA numbers are valid for 30 days and only for the product originally listed on the RMA request form. If the items are not received to the location specified by us on the return within 30 days from the date of the return authorization then credit may not be issued by us. Please use a carrier that provides signature confirmation upon delivery to send back your packages. We are not responsible for returns not received in our facility.

For Credit Card purchases, a credit will be issued to your card. Freight will only be credited in cases where Datacomm Cables made an error in the order.

For Check purchases, a credit will be issued, thus giving you 90 days to use the credit towards another purchase. We do not give cash refunds on Check purchases. After 90 days, the credit expires.

All returns must have the RMA number on the shipping tag. The return will be refused if the RMA number is not indicated. We reserve the right to charge a 50% restock fee on items received without a Return Number that are non custom. We reserve the right to issue credit for Items that qualify for free shipping that are returned less the shipping charges that were incurred by us in shipping them to you, usually shown in the shopping cart when you add the item to the basket. Please be advised that we have the option to replace any item that is defective instead of issuing credit.

In situations where items are defective, we ask that you send the defective items to us immediately. As per industry standards, we must be notified of defective merchandise within 30 days. We are not responsible for items that are not opened and tested by you after 30 days. In some cases we will give you our carrier account number to use to return the defective product. The only service to be used in these cases is Ground. We will not accept charges related to shipments made on our account resulting from other methods of shipment such as overnight or two day service. If you have any questions please let us know and we will have it picked it up by our carrier at our expense if deemed appropriate. We will replace any defective item sent back to us promptly, at our expense. We do not compensate you the user in any way for any other expense other than the cost of the item and shipping charges if warranted. Your credit card may be charged for the replacement, and then credited back when we receive the merchandise.

In cases where the products sold are from specific manufacturers, their warranties are applicable to the merchandise sold by us. We follow their guidelines, and may request you to contact them regarding any issues with their products.

All non-defective stock items may be subject to a minimum 25% restock fee.

For items that are ordered specially from the manufacturer, the restock fee will be determined by them. The item must be in resalable condition to receive credit. Any markings you make on the original manufacturer packaging will make it non-returnable under all circumstances, whether defective or working. We require that you return the items in the original packaging it came in. We reserve the right to not issue a refund to you if the original packaging is missing. All discrepancies in shipment must be reported within 7 days of receipt of goods.

Please do not refuse your package.

You should call us immediately so we can have it picked up should there be a problem with the order. No credit will be issued for shipments refused without prior authorization.

International Customers

We welcome International business. We use UPS or the US Postal Service to ship packages. APO or AE shipments can only be made by US Mail. Please note that due to foreign restrictions, we may be unable to provide proof of delivery or tracking information to some countries. In these cases we will provide you with a proof of shipment, and you agree to not hold Datacomm Cables Inc. responsible for the delivery of the goods. We will make every attempt to advise you of such issues before we ship your package. Of course we will advise you if we are unable to ship your order to your location, and will promptly issue a refund to your original method of payment if we cannot process the order. The International customer is responsible for paying any duties, customs or tariffs on the product when the product arrives in your country. You will not be issued any credit should the package be abandoned by the carrier or it is returned due to non payment of fees. Any fees associated with the return of merchandise that is refused by you will be deducted from any credit due to you. We will charge your credit card in US Dollars where applicable. We prefer Paypal as a method of payment for International Orders. Please note that we can only ship to Paypal confirmed addresses.

Payment Options

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Paypal and Amazon Pay. Your credit card will usually not be charged until your order has shipped. We require you to submit the address to which your credit card is billed in order to process your order. Orders that do not have the exact billing address may not be processed. Corporate clients may also open an account with us. Again, we prefer Paypal for International clients. You may be required to fax a copy of your credit card for security verification should we accept it for international orders. Datacomm Cables, Inc. takes credit card fraud very seriously and we report any such activity to the appropriate authorities.

Net Term customers will incur a $25 fee for checks returned by the bank for insufficient funds, also known as NG Checks.

There will be an interest charge of 12 percent per annum for past due accounts over the net terms.

In case of non-payment or delayed payment the customer will be liable for court fees, attorney fees and all other collection costs.

Coupons and other Promotional Codes

We occasionally offer coupon codes and promotions including free shipping. You cannot use two coupons together on the same transaction. The free shipping offer is only for select products. We reserve the right to end promotions and coupons at any time without prior notice.

Shipping Policy

Orders in before 2:00PM EST Monday to Friday are usually sent out that same day (if item is stock). In some cases when Ground or Free Shipping is chosen, the items may ship next day. We do not ship on Saturday and Sunday, so please factor that in when you calculate transit times. Orders placed on Friday for Next Day Delivery will be delivered on Monday unless offline arrangements are made to specify Saturday delivery. Please do not assume next day delivery means Saturday delivery. Saturday delivery is much more costly which is why you must make special arrangemets with us and expect to pay more for this service. Although we attempt to ship all orders as quickly as possible, it may take a few days to ship your order out if it is a special order item, or is a stock cable that we have to build. The method of shipping will be honored when the order is shipped, so an order placed for Overnight Delivery does not guarantee same day shipping, but will go by that service when it does ship.

Sometimes we ship orders from warehouses and manufacturers who are unable to cancel or modify orders once placed due to automation and speed. In such cases we are unable to modify or cancel an order that is placed. Please advise us immediately if your order is time sensitive, and must ship on a specific date as well. We ship from warehouses all over the country, so it may take a few days for your order to reach you. Not all orders are shipped from our NY Headquarters. International orders may be shipped United States Postal Service. Please note that recent changes made by carriers mean that orders shipped by common carries such as the Postal Service or UPS may not require a signature confirmation and sometimes are not fully trackable, so we suggest that you call us after placing the order to discuss adult signature options for your shipment if you prefer an extra degree of protection. Some orders may be shipped with a signature required upon delivery, however we are not able to notify you which ones might those be. Please make arrangements if you need to be present.

We provide tracking numbers for all orders shipped by UPS and USPS, but do not guarantee an adult signature or name of recipient as per their guidelines. We are able to ship for Saturday Delivery in many cases, but will not be held responsible for packages not delivered by the common carrier. Please refer to the tracking information provided by the carrier. By placing an order online you understand that the merchandise will be delivered by common carrier and any special needs such as a liftgate or inside delivery will incur additional charges. No refunds will be given for non delivery of items by a common carrier once a tracking number is provided to you unless that carrier issues us a refund for shipping charges which we will pass along to you. You agree to be responsible for them if the common carrier attempts to collect these charges from you at a later date.

Please note that we are not responsible for delays caused by carriers once we hand them the merchandise. All common carriers face unexpected delays that we have no control over. We are unable to credit you the shipping charges unless the carrier issues a refund to us. If you ask us to ship an order on your account then you are responsible for claiming any refund you feel you are due from the carrier. We are also not responsible for seasonal or unforseen delays at fullfillment centers. We make every effort to ship your order in the most efficient manner possible. When you choose Free Ground Shipping for orders that qualify, we can ship it by any means available to us, and we do not imply it will go by a common carrier of your choice. We usually use UPS or USPS but we may use another carrier as well. All terms and conditions from that carrier apply to your shipment.

In situations where you supply us with an incorrect address that is corrected by the carrier, we will charge you $25 per package for domestic shipments to cover the cost of address correction fees levied by the carrier(s). International shipments that are subject to correction will incur a $25 per package charge.

Order status

Feel free to contact our customer service department at any time at to check the status of your order. We will get back to you as soon as possible. We reserve the right to cancel any order for any reason and will refund your payment. To cut down on fraud we reserve the right to contact you using the information you provide during checkout. We may cancel an order if we are not able to make contact with you should we choose to do so.
